Luxury Ensuite Bathroom Transformation

I’m so excited to finally share a rather beautiful bathroom transformation which I designed last year for some of my favourite clients. About to undergo some major building works downstairs they first wanted to create a relaxing haven away from the dust and chaos, no doubt with the hope it would make their impending renovation journey easier to handle . They approached me to create designs for both their master bedroom and ensuite and I’m thrilled to have worked with them on this project and now the rest of their home.

The ensuite is a good size but as you can see from the following image…a little shall we say depressing.

The wish list for the new ensuite included a double vanity and possibly marble finish. It needed to have a luxury feel with longevity. As with all bathrooms, careful space planning is crucial and after playing with different layout options it was decided that the plumbing should remain in the same location as ultimately this would allow for the best room layout and help to keep the budget in check.

As the double vanity would be positioned behind the opening door, a pocket door was planned to neatly slide away into the wall to ensure there would be no obstructions and to also make the bathroom feel more spacious. An oversized walk-in shower was also planned with low profile tray for a contemporary seamless look and a stud wall to meet with the shower tray dimensions and to house a recess for products. A simple lighting plan was designed with 2 different circuits, the first to include the standard ceiling spots, mirror de-mister pads and extractor and the second housing the ambient lighting scene to include 3 beautiful Tom Dixon Stone Pendants above the vanity unit, warm LED strip lighting set underneath the floating vanity unit and LED strip lighting within the shower recess. The ensuite would also be equipped with an electric underfloor heating system plus a heated towel rail.

The floor and walls of the shower stall were tiled in stunning Calacatta honed marble from Mandarin Stone, with the flooring laid in large slabs and the shower stall painstakingly tiled in a herringbone pattern to showcase the veins in the marble.

Crosswaters MPRO range was used throughout the bathroom in a brushed brass finish.

A semi-bespoke double vanity was custom painted in Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue and the handles were selected from Dowsing & Reynolds.

Needless to say the finished result is stunningly beautiful and I have complete bathroom envy. My clients are thrilled with the results which of course is everything!
