About Me
Thank you for visiting Helen Shoemark Interior Design, here’s a little bit about me….
In my previous life I worked for many years as a hotel buyer for international travel companies, as a result my design style has been greatly influenced by my numerous visits to some of the worlds most beautiful destinations and resorts. From luxurious beachside teak cabins in Thailand, slick city hotels to ancient French villas in Laos, all have moulded my appreciation of atmosphere, texture, authenticity and uniqueness in interior design. It’s true that we can’t all jet off to far flung shores for our inspiration but we can take our passions, influences, treasured possessions and dreams, intertwining them into our homes to curate an inspirational and soulful space to enjoy.
Alongside my passion for travel, I also spent a number of years selling unique vintage furniture and undertaking bespoke painting commissions which secured my love of blending modern with vintage and furthered my interest in traditional home grown arts and crafts. To me there is something so special about owning a unique or handcrafted piece for the home, a piece which no one else has, that has history or has taken a craftsman skill, time and patience to create just for you, to be cherished and admired. My designs allow vintage to harmoniously live with modern to achieve an inspirational home.
After graduating at the Interior Design Business School, Helen Shoemark Interior Design was launched to offer affordable residential interior design services with soul and personality. Having a family of my own has given me a strong insight into the demands the daily family routine can put on our home. It is true that our home can greatly impact the way we live and how we operate on a daily basis. As such I love being able to help others improve their homes and as such their quality of life, from making small changes to big, finding a solution that my client loves is a truly rewarding experience.
Operating in my home county of Northamptonshire and the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire regions, I offer a range of services from interior styling, furniture sourcing, 3D rendering and full interior design solutions with the additional option of small scale project management.
