In my previous career, I spent many years as a hotel buyer for international travel companies. This experience has significantly shaped my design style, influenced by my visits to some of the world’s most stunning destinations and resorts. From luxurious beachside teak cabins in Thailand to chic city hotels and ancient French villas in Laos, these experiences have deepened my appreciation for the atmosphere, texture, authenticity, and uniqueness in interior design. While not everyone can travel to distant shores for inspiration, we can infuse our homes with our passions, influences, cherished possessions, and dreams, creating an inspiring and soulful space to enjoy.
In addition to my love for travel, I dedicated several years to selling unique vintage furniture and taking on bespoke painting commissions, which solidified my passion for blending modern and vintage styles while deepening my interest in traditional, homegrown arts and crafts. For me, there’s something truly special about owning a unique or handcrafted item for the home—something that no one else possesses, which carries a story and reflects the craftsmanship, skill, time, and patience taken to create it just for you. My designs seamlessly integrate vintage elements with modern aesthetics to create an inspiring home environment.
After graduating from the Interior Design Business School, I founded Helen Shoemark Interior Design to provide affordable residential interior design services full of soul and personality. As a family person, I have a strong understanding of the challenges that daily routines can impose on our living spaces. Our home significantly influences our lifestyle and daily operations. I find great joy in helping others enhance their homes and, consequently, their quality of life—whether through small changes or larger transformations, discovering a solution that resonates with my clients is an incredibly rewarding experience.
Based in my home county of Northamptonshire and serving the surrounding areas of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, I offer a variety of services including interior styling, furniture sourcing, 3D rendering, and comprehensive interior design solutions, along with an option for small-scale project management.
