The Best Places to Find New Decorative Hardware

One of the questions I get asked most, either via social media or by friends and family is, where did you find those amazing door handles? In a lot of cases the existing cabinet hardware on the vintage furniture I buy is beyond repair , half missing and can’t be matched or detracts from the beauty of the actual piece of furniture. In many cases, clients like the idea of having a vintage piece and updating with modern hardware to fit more easily into their existing home interiors. With this being the case I have spent a ridiculous amount of time searching for new hardware sources and am now going to share with you my list of best places to buy new decorative cabinet hardware.

Zara Home

A really great value option for those looking to update their existing furniture. Their offering is much like their clothes; following current home trends, selling out quickly and not often restocked (in other words if you see something you like then buy it fast before it disappears!) I have bought quite a few pulls from Zara Home and have found that the quality has been good especially for the price point.

Anthropologie

This store offers some very pretty and also on-trend hardware plus with their homeware offering becoming more and more stylish with great collaborations with the likes of Bethan Grey, I predict this will only get better. The two items listed below are some of my current favourites.

Dowsing & Reynolds

Dowsing & Reynolds offer stylish, contemporary and quality hardware at a not too eye-watering price tag. Their T-Bars are indeed beautiful however, for this post I’ve chosen their popular leather handles, available in a variety of colours.

Buster & Punch

Honestly if my pockets were deep enough I would buy it all. We are definitely going up a notch in price with Buster & Punch, their hardware is on everyone’s wishlist and likewise the fabulous lighting range.

Etsy & Ebay

For those with time on their hands, Etsy and Ebay are great places to find unique vintage hardware usually at a bargain price tag. It might be that they will need a bit of attention (a vinegar bath and good rub of Brasso) however, once shone these vintage beauties will be worth the effort. The handles below were sourced for a commission piece and finished with gold guilding wax to bring out the detail.

Graham & Green

Now and again Graham & Green produce a little gem and I’m particularly enjoying these cowhide drawer pulls recently launched (already sold out) an alternative to the original simple leather alternatives.
